Calculations are performed either on the basis of a reverberation time measured and entered by the user or derived from the wall materials and surface areas of the room model. In addition to STI, Ease Evac also provides CIS and ALCons mappings according to users’ needs. S/N ratio can also be investigated, but still more important is an accurate prediction of STI.

On a modern PC, Ease Evac will take only a few seconds to calculate a precise graphical prediction of the potential system´s performance in the space. A set of tools are available to add extensive systems of ceiling loudspeakers or additional wall-mounted systems. Additionally, the reduction of speech intelligibility through reverberation and echoes has often been underestimated even by professionals.ĪFMG´s Ease Evac software allows drafting of an acoustic 3D model of rooms (hallways, foyers, conference rooms or even airport gate areas) within minutes.

The result was more loudspeakers, more amplifiers, more batteries or generator power, increased cabling and installation work, higher costs. Until now, the common approach for both system designers and system integrators to guarantee an STI (speech intelligibility index) of 0.5 or more was to over-design voice alarm systems. In response, AFMG has released Ease Evac, tailored for easy and quick simulation of large distributed loudspeaker systems and similar applications. While most conditions can easily be tackled by detailed planning, minimum speech intelligibility still remains a key priority in system design. EASE Address is also created by AFMG.As development and discussion of NFPA 72 continues on the American continent, Europe is pursuing its own EN/IEC 60849 – both standards cover the requirements for voice alarm systems in public areas. The scientific base of EASE Address stems from EASE, the professional electro- and room acoustic simulation software developed by Ahnert Feistel Media Group. It consists of an intuitive and consistent interface, which agrees with modern user interface design principles. The applicability of EASE Address is quite extensive compared to conventional 2D ceiling loudspeaker simulation software. The design of EASE Address is targeted to our end user, but also at engineers.

AUDAC has licensed their ceiling speakers' GLL files, so they can be used free of charge in EASE Address. The software uses GLL files which have all necessary loudspeaker information. The purpose of EASE Address is to provide both the integrator, who needs to quickly develop a simple design for a ceiling loudspeaker system, as well as the developer with a tool that allows the easy and quick prediction of the system performance in a given hall. EASE Address is a software that allows the modeling of acoustic sources, distributed loudspeaker systems in particular, in two dimensions. It only considers the direct field, created by the addition of the sound contributions of the individual loudspeakers. EASE Address can be used for 70V/100V systems and also for low impedance systems.
